Global staffing provider Randstad acquires Berlin-based twago

Randstad Holding nv, a 24.5 billion provider of HR services which also has a subsidiary in the U.S., acquired Twago yesterday. Twago is a Berlin based online marketplace for freelancers consisting of over 500,000, mostly European, independent contractors. Randstad, who is a global leader in temporary, temporary-to-hire and permanent work placement is excited about the acquisition. Because it will allow for the organization to broaden its horizons by accelerating its freelance talent strategies in a holistic and integrated way.

“With twago’s platform and reach, we can provide clients with enhanced access to freelancers,” said Chris Heutink, Randstad executive board member. “The twago architecture can be easily adapted to create client-branded freelance recruitment platforms seamlessly integrated with our professionals’ activities like Yacht (in the Netherlands) or Expectra (in France) or the client’s’ existing vendor management system. As a result, employers will be able to source talent more quickly and cost-effectively. It will also lead to a much better management of freelancers.”
