Hillary Clinton’s “Tech Agenda” supports the Gig Economy

Hillary Clinton sees the social and economic rewards that come with investing in technology.

Presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton, is expected to release her new “technology and innovation” agenda sometime this week. In her 14 page draft, she addresses issues involving the future of Silicon Valley, the Gig Economy, high-speed internet for all and even the need to create a position for a “Chief innovation adviser”. She will be visiting the Denver-based startup company Galvanize today to discuss her platform before it’s released.

Hillary Clinton also plans on investing funds into the sphere of digitally connected devices by having federal agencies research how to improve their cost efficiency and practicality. Tony Romm, of Politico.com reports, “It wades into the battle over the rights and benefits that should be afforded to Uber or Lyft drivers and other workers in the gig economy, who are not technically full-time employees. Generally, Clinton would call for a “high-level working group of experts, business and labor leaders” to review the issue”.
Donald Trump, who hasn’t addressed such issues, seems to be more concerned with cutting Tech funding rather than fostering its growth.
